This is the very first year I have been a professional teacher. I received my first posting as a teacher after a long grueling five months of searching for a job after graduation from the university I was attending.
I remember thinking, as many of us do, that maybe I really don't belong in this arena, when I unlocked my classroom for the first time. Since that time, I've now been teaching for five months and I've run the gamut of emotions during that time.
Then I had a thought. I'm only going to have one "First Year" of teaching, so it might be a good idea to take the time, even though time is precious, to record the good, the bad, and the "Don't ever think about doing that again!" moments.
I'm hoping to be able to use this space for my personal reflections as well as making this forum a treasure trove of lesson ideas for future years of teaching to come. I love to read other teacher's reflections and their shared knowledge and experiences. So, maybe this blog might be that for someone else. Who knows!
